Askot has released a new version of his modified port of SNES9X v1.43 for the Nintendo Wii/GameCube. SNES9X is a Super Nintendo emulator which allows you to play your favorite oldschool SNES games on your video gaming console.
Please do understand there are two different SNES9X emulators for the Wii/GC. This one is based on v1.43 of SNES9X for the PC and features faster game play, but lacks some features found in v1.51.
What's New?
- Add SD card subdirectory browsing:
+ Set the cursor over [..] and push A button to browse.
- Modified controls when going into the rom selection menu (DVD or SDCARD): [ala eke-eke style]
+ Use B to quit selection list.
+ Use L/R triggrers or Pad Left/Right to go down/up one full page.
- Some menu rearrangment and a little of sourcecode cleanup:
+ Everytime you pressed B button on any option, playgame started, not anymore until you select Play Game option.

Scott MyClymont has updated his Blackjack game for Nintendo DS.

Full release notes:
First off, I made the front page with the previous version of this, woo! Thanks guys!
So this was version 0.2 ( http://palib.info/forum/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=22439#forumpost22439 ) that I posted back in November, and after being quite busy with other things over the Christmas/New Year period, have now gotten time to work on version 0.3. And here it is! Main improvements are that you can now split your hand (providing you have the money), and normal Blackjack rules are in place for that (no splitting 10s, only one more card after splitting aces etc.), and there's also some sprites for cards to further get away from the text-based feel of the previous versions. A fellow member B.J. offered me the use of their card graphics for this game after I posted 0.2, so I'll be looking to incorporate them into a future version now that everythings in place for the sprites, so big thanks for that! I had hoped to get some sound effects or music working for this version, but that still needs a little more work, so I've put that on hold for just now. There's also a small pause between card drawings just to add a bit of suspense!
As mentioned before, my aim for this is to create a fully customisable Blackjack game where you can tweak all the rules to how the game is played in your part of the world or how you play with friends. Or perhaps just with the rules you want to practice on for fun or for when you want to hit the casino!
I'll be working a lot more on this now that the holiday season is over with, so it'll be a shorter gap until the next version. I'm hoping to get a section for the user to tweak some of the more basic rules, maybe keep track of some stats as you play, possibly get some sounds in there and look into the new card graphics. The ones I have now are really just intended as a "first draft" of sorts, so they won't still be there come version 1.0. I also plan on giving more space on the screen to the cards, which would mean finding a new way of showing any split hands you have. For this first attempt though, you can only split once and if you do then it's on the screen all the time for you to see.
There's also a few minor things that need tweaked such as the dealer not taking cards when you already have Blackjack (unless they have a 10 or an ace), but I'd promised to get this out before the end of January, so I had to leave some things til next time.
Any feedback is appreciated as are any bugs that you might find! Splitting cards caused a few niggles, but I think I got them all. Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks! :D

Mike Hawkins has sent me an email containing his Gameboy Advance application "Vero Design Advance".
.jpg)
Vero Design Advance is a CAD package designed to help you layout Veroboard/stripboard designs directly on your Gameboy Advance. A detailed documentation is available with the download.
The program itself is a little bit aged, but unpublished so far. It was sent to GBAdev.org where it never made it to the mainpage and the file archive. Thanks for the release Mike!

Dear visitors,
the homebrew scene is very active and so was PDRoms. In January 2008 we had over 630 news, which makes around 20 news daily.
It's a great feeling to see so many people putting their love and effort into homebrew. As usual the major news were for Playstation Portable, iPhone, Nintendo DS and GP2x. Android is still lurking in a corner and waiting to break out.
Another amazing thing, PDRoms has gained more and more attention these days, which makes everyone of the team really happy and motivated. We will try to improve even more, but of course we can not do this alone. We need helping hands. Tell your friends about PDRoms, help spreading the word about homebrew and let's try to grow together.
PDRoms is still a non commercial project, unless other pages who pretend to help homebrewers, but make a decent amount of money by posting lots of hardware review gossips with hidden affilation links and tons of banners. Of course we understand everyone who tries to get his costs back, so did we severall times in the past by displaying one or maximum two banners from time to time (currently none) - but everything has it's limits and luckily everyone is having his own mind, to sort out the good and bad buddies.
Our current "Thank you" to the scene is the PDRoms Coding Competition #3.99, which is located here: http://www.pdroms.de/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=59
Some more surprises are comming up the next week, so stay tuned!
Regards

iprice is looking for a beta tester of his new game Blox.
.PNG)
Notes:
Notes:
Hi all, I'm completely new to the GP2X, and I'm actually asking for help with regard to a working project.
I'm in the process of finishing off a puzzle game written for the GP2X
I've been writing it on a pc in GLBasic, however I'm not able to test my game on a GP2X (F200 only at the moment).
I'm asking for a genuine willing a dedicated volunteer (or two) to help test the game on a real F200. I'm interested in any/all bugs sound problems and gameplay difficulties especially with touchscreen control.
The final version will be freely available for any GP2X.
The file as it stands is less than 2Mb compiled(.RAR) so it's not very big. The game is simple in concept, but becomes devilishly difficult, but hopefully still fun.
If you are genuine, interested and most importanly ABLE to test on a REAL GP2X F200 (the one with touchscreen), then please email/PM (if available) me.

Converter is a units converter for iPhone coded by Vladimir Kofman.
Changes:
Changes:
- Now storing "recently used" units. So it's much easier to work with long lists (like currencies). Currently the value is hardcoded (but will be configurable in the future versions).
- Localization support. Now the application can be easily translated (I've started with Russian and Hebrew).
- Numerous ui enhancements and bug fixes.
- For those upgrading to 1.1.3 - the application seems to work just fine.

ZodTTD and Senor Quack updated their port of TTD.
Changes:
Changes:
* You can now push and hold Control anywhere on a window and drag it. This
allows complete use of windows that won't all fit on the small GP2X screen like Difficulty
Settings and Patch Configuration. Credits for some of the code goes to the PSP port author,
Jaime Penalba.
* Cleaned up window placements of difficulty settings and patch configuration.
* Fixed cut-off text and windows in newspaper articles.
* Added TTD's UNICODE TTF support, made TTF font drawing default to better
support foreign languages (all except Asian languages which will need a
separate TTD2X add-on pack)
* Added cheat menu hotkey: A+B+X+Y
* Added new command-line parameters:
1.) -p XX changes the normal cursor movement rate to XX, values can be 1-29
2.) -P XX changes the fast cursor movement rate to XX, values can be 1-29
(defaults for both of these are 3 and 12 respectively)
3.) -X (capital X) allows swapping of triggers when in F200 controls mode
to be mouse clicks instead of the usual Control/Shift keys.
This is to answer a request from a few users.

News from bdev13:
_(XBOX_360_Game).JPG)
Release notes:
Release notes:
CastleAttack is my tribute to Warlords (one of my favorite Atari 2600 games). The object of the game is to protect your castle from the ricocheting fireball while trying to destroy your opponents' castles.
One to four players can play at once (the cpu assumes the remaining positions). There are three difficulty levels.
This project was developed using XNA 2.0 so you may need to download the update before you can load this project into your environment.
Full source is included. Versions for Windows and XBox 360 are included. I didn't include the contents of the bin folder for the 360 (so that the zip file was small enough to be uploaded) so you'll need to build the 360 version before deploying to your 360 (which you would probably want to do anyway)

Here is a new version of PSP7800 the Atari 7800 console emulator!
.jpg)
Changes:
.jpg)
Changes:
- Major speed improvements (> 60 fps at 222Mhz)
but limited at 50fps by default

useful for games such as space Xevious !
On given games, the auto fire can't be stopped easily

- IR keyboard support
(pretty useless, but don't forget, i'm a shadok)
- Add several new hotkeys :
. settings such as fps, render mode, auto fire speed
can now be directly modified inside the emulator
(no need to enter in the settings menu)
. quick save / quick load current state
(no need to enter in the main menu)
- RTrigger/LTrigger keys can be used in the keyboard
settings menu to navigate between Normal, LTrigger
and RTrigger compose mapping.
- Analog pad can be used in the rom file requester
- Default Hotkeys can now be set in the keyboard mapping menu
(useful to add hotkeys on existing/previous keyboard files)
- Bug fix in the low battery watchdog

Ste, a maintainer of one of the biggest iPhone repro's posted this on his page:
Alert - Please Read - Very Important - Pass This On
The release of the 1.1.3 firmware has caused a ton of headaches for developers and package maintainers. Many packages store media and preferences under /var/root/Media and /var/root/Library. With the release of 1.1.3, most packages will now need to store that stuff under /var/mobile/Media and /var/mobile/Library.
For developers, they have to write their apps to be firmware version aware, so that they can read/write from the correct location, depending on what firmware they are running on. For packagers, we have to install/uninstall that stuff from the right place, depending on the firmware. It’s a nightmare.
Nullriver has released the full 3.0 version - no beta any more - of Installer.app. This release allows packagers to install the stuff mentioned above into ~/Media and ~/Library and Installer.app will put it in the right place, based on the firmware of the device.
This version of Installer.app also provides packagers with the ability to check how much free space is available, before installing, so that we don’t fill up the root partition any more. It also adds features that will help in migrating applications out of /Applications to other locations. There is more - this release is really chock full of stuff to make life easier for all of us.
It is imperative that you upgrade to Installer.app 3.0 as soon as possible. By that, I mean NOW. Right now, today. I am going to start releasing package updates today that will rely on the new features. They will not install correctly on older releases of Installer.app. If you run into any trouble and find you need to manually download and install Installer.app, get it from here ( http://repository.apptapp.com/packages/System/Installer.zip ), which always points to the latest version. Other repositories will start using these new features shortly, too, so it really is in your best interest to upgrade right this minute. If you do not, and you have an issue installing any of my packages, my response will be “please upgrade, try again, and only come back if you still have a problem”.
To prevent this kind of chicken-and-egg issue in the future, one new feature in this release is the ability for the package maintainer to specify a minimum Installer.app version required for the package to install. Unfortunately, this time, we can’t really use it, because the older Installer.apps don’t understand that feature.
For a full listing of changes in this release of Installer.app, please see the “Featured” page in your current Installer.app.

The sheriff took your guns, nobody believes your cousin Clem the town drunk as to what he saw and who's been rustling and butchering the local cows. Hell they'd already assumed it was him since he and his brother's BBQ Hut has been having a sale on brisket all summer. Only you believe him and you're tanked up and crazy enough to help try to stop them since they've been sucking the blood out of your livelihood, the herd. Clem was all star quarterback until that bull riding accident broke his knees so he can only throw forward and it's up to you to put him in position by maneuvering your truck just so but he can throw up to 60 yards accurately and you have a whole monster truck load of axe handles and pitchforks. Honk the horn to herd the cows, maybe frighten an alien and try not to hit any cows or wreck the truck since the aim of the game is to defend the herd. The way them aliens been attacking your cows the truck may be all you have left by end of summer. Oh and be sure to avoid that death ray when the aliens start tagging up the place with them crop circles.

Features:
* All Wheel Drive
* Automatic Transmission
* Mud Flaps
* Radio Gets Two Stations On A Cloudy Night
* Clem's got one hell of an arm on him
* Full moon
Tips: To fork a cow sucker smack it dead center on the black grill. Use the nitrous to move quickly around the pasture with occasional misfires.
