ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed!

Release notes:
This v.1.0-chaoticbob-cax is based on ChaoticBob's v0.21 port of ScummVM.
Here is the list of changes (mostly taken from original ScummVM as found on scummvm.org):

- all-purpose virtual keyboard, activated with "R" button
- predictive T9 virtual keyboard for games like "Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards"
- "X" button remapped to Enter
- default ScummVM theme (skin)
- supports more game engines
- source advanced to version 1.0.0
- stripped (smaller) optimized statically compiled binary

yoannd26 ported Foxy's "Bubble Dizzy" remake to Dingux.

Bubble Dizzy is an arcade style action video game developed by the Oliver twins and published in November 1990 by Codemasters for the Amstrad, Spectrum, DOS, Atari ST, Commodore 64 and Amiga. The game involves Dizzy being forced to walk the plank of a pirate ship and from the sea bed use bubbles to float back to the surface and dry land. Like Dizzy Down the Rapids, this game derived from a mini-game found in The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy. [From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubble_Dizzy ]

Gmu is a music player for the Dingoo. Gmu supports Ogg Vorbis, MP3, Musepack, FLAC and various module formats (such as s3m, stm, it, etc.). It also includes a playlist and a file browser.

Quote:
Gmu has been around for quite some time now and previous versions of Gmu always have been released as Freeware. Today I release another version of Gmu. It is another beta release of the 0.7.0 series and hopefully the last beta release until the final 0.7.0 release.

Over the past few years, people have frequently asked me if I would release the source code of the Gmu music player, but until today I didn’t. Although I had planned to release Gmu as open source software, I always wanted to make Gmu somewhat feature-complete, first. Now Gmu is very close to such a state. Of course there will always be features worth adding and bugs that need to be fixed, but (in my opinion) it is in a very usable state.

Actually, I had planned to release Version 0.7.0 as Gmu’s first open source release. The reason for doing it earlier with this 0.7.0_BETA8 version, are the guys at sharism.cc who develop open source hardware like the Ben NanoNote which I have mentioned a few posts earlier. They would like to ship those NanoNote devices with Gmu as the device’s music player.

What’s new in this release? Actually not that much considering new features, but there still has been a notable change. I’ve improved Gmu’s theme engine such that it will be possible to use Gmu on devices with screen resolutions other than the good old 320×240 resolution used on the GP2X, Wiz and Dingoo. This is not of much use for those devices but allows for easier porting of Gmu to other devices. Unfortunately, this change also means that you cannot use your old Gmu skins, but it is rather simple to create your own new themes with the new theme engine. Just have a look at the new “default-modern” theme, which comes with this Gmu release.

So here it is. The Gmu Open Source Edition released under the GPLv2 (GNU General Public License version 2). Also, for your convenience, there are binary builds for the GP2X, GP2X Wiz and the Dingoo A320.

When trying to build Gmu please have a look at the BUILD.txt file first. There are important information on how to build Gmu binaries for different targets.

Also, new users should have a look at the README.txt file that comes with every Gmu release.

joyrider ported his game Sokoban GP2x to the Dingoo! It bears minor changes to make it playable on the Dingoo (obviously!).

Sokoban GP2X is a remake of the classic sokoban game. You as the player need to push boxes to specific locations in the level. Once all boxes are pushed to the correct spots the level is finished.Sokoban GP2X is basically a sokoban engine, it contains all the game rules and has the ability to use level packs. It's possible to create the level packs directly on the GP2X using the built in Level editor. Each level pack can also have customized graphics and menu colors. The game engine also has an undo system up to 1000 moves, and have custom 25 mod or ogg music files loaded up.

This competition has been organised and prizes funded by members of the online GP32, GP2x, WIZ and DINGOO handheld console communities based on various international forums.

The competition was originally suggested on the GP32x.com forums after one member was feeling frustrated and anxious waiting for the pre-order of his Pandora handheld console and decided a fun distraction was in order.

Please contact codingcompetition @ googlemail.com if you would like to donate towards the total prize pool, you can donate as little or as much as you like. Also you can request to be an anonymous donor if you like.

If you would like to be considered as a judge please contact us at codingcompetition@googlemail.com.

If you would like to enter the competition please submit your entry using the online submission box. Also if you want to contribute a splash screen please email us. Splash screens should contain "2010 P.A.C.C February 9-29 2010" and our web address.

This competition was organised to reward and celebrate our scene's coders and give them an opportunity to work on something they might enjoy doing rather than something "THAT I ACTUALLY LIKE AND CAN USE" as one selfish member stated. Also this competition is not intended to be a way "to shake down the community."

Rules:
Entries to be submitted by using the online entry box no later than Sunday March 28 Midnight Greenwich time.

Entries will only be accepted for the following formats: GP32, GP2x, WIZ and DINGOO (Native or Dingux).

Entries will be accepted for other systems only if they benefit one of the above formats. For example development tools, video encoders, game makers etc that run on PC/Mac/Linux...

Already released software must have a substantial upgrade from previous releases to qualify for judging and must also contain a list of changes to the previous version.

Entries to contain a text file with the authors email, PayPal address, the name of the software and a brief description of the software. This file should be called "entry.txt"

Entries that are not stand alone software will have to include any libraries or files required to run. In special circumstances we will be flexible on this rule but clear instructions will have to be provided. In the case of interpreters and emulators copyrighted files should not be included.

Entries are not to be released to the public until after the contest has closed and winners announced. Private beta testing is of course allowed.

Entries that run on the units themselves will require a "2010 PACC" splash screen to be eligible for prizes. These splash screens will be downloadable from the competition webpage or you can make your own as long as it contains the following information: 2010 P.A.C.C February 9-29 2010. It also must contain the competition web address "http://webpoint-servers.com/pacc/" and any corporate sponsorship we pick up along the way. :D

Entries in languages other than English will be accepted as long as sufficient English documentation is provided.
